Many questions on being a patent attorney?

Secondly, what major would be prefered in college? It seems everyone wants BSEEs and Comp Sci majors, although to be honest i think id enjoy mech more than EE. Dont know about that yet though.
Also, about being a patent attorney, what is the average day like? What do you do (more detailed than writing patents!)? Also what salary and lifestyle can be expected.
sorry ran out of space…id also like to know how you start out after law school (seems you cant just jump into the high paying Patent Prosecutor jobs!). Finally, any other comments are welcome. Thanks
